Children

Singing, joyfully
their cheerful voices
carry upon the gentle breezes,

higher and higher.

Into the trees
pushing-pulling,
over the branches they climb,

higher and higher.

Stretched, the canvas springs back,
launching the laughter into
an azure sky,

higher and higher.

Later, ambushed by sleep
they lay snuggled in comfort
their dreams ascending towards stars,

higher and higher.
