The Journey

A drop of passion squeezes itself free
and escapes from the well of your tearing eye.

It flows…

Along the smooth skin of your cheek
and gathers strength upon your chin.
There it hangs, trembling,
terrified of the moments emotions.

It falls…

Landing on your chest.
Slowly it crawls towards the
apex of your breast.
There it quivers,
searching for the courage
it needs to survive,
but will not find.

It leaps…

Tumbling onto your hip.
Unbelieving, it runs
over your fertile curves
following the smooth skin
further away from the pain.
Drained, it stumbles along your thigh,
only wanting to end its sad journey.

It lets go…

And crashes,
to the ground.
Taking with it,
all your dreams.
