To My Muse on Valentines

Looking back at
my poetry,
I cannot help but
notice that a portion
has been inspired
by you.

Every artist has his
muse, and for me that muse
is you.

I thank you
for all you have given me…
I would not be the man,
nor the father,
nor the friend,
nor the son,
without the gentle
touches you have left
upon me.

Know that there will always
be a special place in my heart
for you,
kept warm by the dream that is
us.

I will always cherish the memories,
the laughter,
the love,
that only soul mates
know and share.
